Return, Refund & Cancellation Policy

1. Introduction

At Mahidha, we take pride in creating and curating jewellery that meets high standards of craftsmanship, quality and design. Every product undergoes quality inspection before dispatch. This Return, Refund & Cancellation Policy explains the circumstances under which cancellations, returns, replacements and refunds may be accepted. By placing an order on our Website, you agree to the terms of this Policy.

2. General Return Philosophy

Due to the nature of jewellery products, Mahidha does not offer returns for change of mind, preference changes, style choices or subjective dissatisfaction. Returns are accepted only in the limited circumstances specified in this Policy. Nothing in this Policy limits rights available to consumers under applicable Indian laws.

3. Order Cancellation

Cancellation Before Dispatch — Customers may request cancellation before an order has been dispatched. Cancellation requests should be submitted immediately after placing the order. Approval is subject to order status, packaging status, production status, and courier handover status. If approved, the order amount will be refunded through the original payment method.

Cancellation After Dispatch — Once an order has been dispatched, cancellation requests may not be accepted. Customers must follow the return eligibility process described below.

Customized & Made-to-Order Products — Orders involving personalisation, engraving, special modifications, or made-to-order production cannot be cancelled once production has commenced.

4. Eligible Return Reasons

Mahidha accepts return requests only if:

  • A. Product Received Is Damaged — damage occurring during shipping or transit.
  • B. Product Received Is Defective — manufacturing defects affecting functionality or quality.
  • C. Wrong Product Delivered — product differs substantially from the confirmed order.
  • D. Product Materially Differs From Description — the delivered item is significantly different from the product description.

5. Non-Eligible Return Reasons

Returns shall not be accepted for change of mind, personal preference, colour expectations, gift recipient preference, delayed delivery due to courier issues, minor natural variations, natural pearl characteristics, natural gemstone characteristics, handcrafted variations, sterling silver tarnishing, or gold plating wear due to usage.

6. Return Request Timeline

Customers must report eligible return issues within 48 hours of delivery. Requests submitted beyond this period may not be accepted.

7. Mandatory Unboxing Evidence

For damaged, missing, incorrect or defective product claims, customers are strongly encouraged to provide a complete unboxing video, product photographs, packaging photographs, and shipping label photographs. Failure to provide supporting evidence may affect claim evaluation.

8. Return Conditions

To qualify for return approval, products must be unused, unworn, in original condition, and include original packaging, certificates (if applicable), tags, and invoice or proof of purchase. Products showing signs of misuse may be rejected.

9. Non-Returnable Products

The following products are generally non-returnable:

  • Earrings — due to hygiene considerations, unless damaged during transit, defective upon delivery, or incorrect product received.
  • Customized Jewellery — products customized or personalized for customers.
  • Engraved Products — products containing custom engraving.
  • Made-to-Order Products — products specifically manufactured upon order.
  • Gift Cards — digital or physical gift cards.
  • Promotional Products — products sold under final sale or clearance promotions where clearly indicated.

10. Pearl Variation Disclaimer

Mahidha sells natural and cultured pearls. Pearls may naturally vary in shape, surface, colour, lustre, and size. These characteristics are inherent to pearls and shall not constitute defects. Returns will not be accepted solely due to natural pearl variations.

11. Gemstone Variation Disclaimer

Natural gemstones may display colour differences, inclusions, pattern differences, and surface characteristics. These natural variations are not defects.

12. Handcrafted Jewellery Disclaimer

Certain Mahidha products are handcrafted. Minor differences in finishing, texture, detailing, and stone placement are expected and do not qualify for return.

13. Sterling Silver Tarnish Disclaimer

Sterling silver naturally oxidizes and may tarnish due to humidity, air exposure, skin chemistry, perfume, cosmetics, and moisture. Tarnishing is not considered a manufacturing defect and is therefore not a valid reason for return or refund.

14. Gold Plating Disclaimer

Gold plating may gradually wear with use. Factors affecting plating life include usage frequency, skin chemistry, environmental exposure, and care practices. Normal wear of plating is not a manufacturing defect.

15. Return Approval Process

Return requests are reviewed individually. Submission of a request does not automatically guarantee approval. Mahidha may request additional photographs, videos, product inspection, or supporting documentation. Approval remains at Mahidha's reasonable discretion subject to applicable consumer laws.

16. Reverse Pickup

Where available, Mahidha may arrange reverse pickup. Availability depends on delivery location, courier coverage, and product category. Where reverse pickup is unavailable, customers may be requested to ship products to a designated address.

17. Inspection of Returned Products

All returned products undergo quality inspection, which may include verification of product condition, defect claims, damage claims, authenticity, and packaging. Refunds or replacements are processed only after successful inspection.

18. Replacement Policy

Where claims are verified, Mahidha may offer product replacement, repair, or refund. Replacement availability depends on stock availability. If replacement inventory is unavailable, a refund may be offered.

19. Refund Eligibility

Refunds may be issued where the product is defective, damaged in transit, the wrong item was delivered, the order cannot be fulfilled, or replacement is unavailable.

20. Refund Method

Approved refunds will generally be processed through the original payment method used for purchase. Where this is not possible, Mahidha may determine an alternative lawful refund method.

21. Refund Timelines

Approved refunds are generally processed within 7–10 business days after return approval and receipt and inspection of returned products (where applicable). Bank processing times may vary.

22. Return Shipping Costs

Where a return is approved due to a manufacturing defect, shipping damage, or wrong product delivery, Mahidha shall bear reasonable return shipping costs.

23. International Orders

International returns may be subject to additional restrictions. Customers are responsible for customs duties, import taxes, return shipping charges, and customs documentation unless otherwise required by applicable law.

24. Refused International Shipments

If a customer refuses an international shipment, customs charges may still apply, return shipping costs may apply, and refund amounts may be reduced by actual costs incurred.

25. Fraudulent Claims

Mahidha reserves the right to reject claims that are false, misleading, fraudulent, or unsupported by evidence. Fraudulent activity may result in suspension of future purchases.

26. Force Majeure

Mahidha shall not be liable for delays in refunds, replacements or returns caused by natural disasters, government restrictions, courier disruptions, customs delays, labour disruptions, or events beyond reasonable control.

27. Consumer Rights

Nothing in this Policy shall limit rights available under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020, Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, or any other applicable law.

28. Policy Changes

Mahidha may update this Policy periodically. Updated versions will be published on the Website with a revised effective date.
